Message: Is there any way to test a MAP sensor? Is there a procedure to test one using a volt/ohm meter and a vacuum pump?
Thanks!

Message: Are you getting a " bad MAP sensor" code ?
Were you recently working around throttle body
and maybe disturbed a connector ?
There probably is some way to test the ' sensor '
as you are suggesting , and possibly - any difference in resistance from no vacuum to
say 14 psi of vacuum may indicate the sensor is
OK ! Have you measured it at no vacuum ?
Should have some ' reading '..
They are not that expensive to be worth a
[ commercial ] MAP analyzer !
BUT many " scantools " have a capability to
{ check sensors } in or out of vehicle or circuit.

Message: take this as you will. i was surfing the net and found the following:
Typical (Key On, Engine Off) MAP sensor at sea level will read approximately: 3.6 volts.
At an idea voltage should be approximatley 1.6 - 1.8 volts.
give it a try and see what happens
