Subject: 545RFE Trans Temp Gauge IP: Logged
Message: I'm looking to install a temp gauge on my '04. I'm planning on tapping into the outgoing line from the tranny. Which line is the out? Anyone know the diameter of this - so I can get a manifold for it?

Message: I'm not 100% positive, but usually the forwardmost line from the tranny case is the output, and the rearmost line being the return. You can test this my going for a short drive, hopping under the truck and breifly touching each line with your hand. Obviously, the warmer will be the outgoing.
What kind of gauge are you using, electric or ether, or ??? I too want a trans temp gauge for my Gen2, but most units have a huge probe that would need to be mounted in the pan, causing removal problems down the road.

Message: I'm looking to use an electrical gauge. I'm thinking of installing a manifold inline w/ the cooler lines.
Does anyone know if somebody makes deep pans for the 545RFE w/ a tapped hole already there? I don't think they have one for this tranny yet.
Thoughts?
