Subject: Passenger Side Seat IP: Logged
Message: Hello Y'All,
Trying to find some info about possibly repairing my sliding passenger seat on Ext Cab Dak. My pass seat used to tilt forward once small lever in back was depressed/pulled. However, something happened recently and have not had any luck with seat mechanism working properly. Friend of mine (or so he says...)told me that, on Dodge autos, you normally can't repair these issues, due to being worn out; buy entire seat harness and replace.
Anybody out there has ever approached similar problem?
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Message: If you have time, take the seat out of the truck, flip it over and look at the cable(s) running from the lever(s) to the mechanism. One of them is broken, there is your problem. You may be able to repair that cable, possibly replace it with a new one, or have one made (think bicylce shift cable). Good luck.

Message: While Dodge would replace the whole seat, damn near anything can be fixed.
My seat did the EXACT same thing; would flip but not slide. I unbolted the seat and flipped it over. There was a cable that ran from the right side of the seat to the left, that when pulled released the lock from the left inside slider. That was what was keeping my seat from sliding. I fixed it with a zip-tie.

Message: I have a similar problem with mine. The lever to tilt the seat to allow access to rear seat no longer engages. It failed slowly and got harder and harder to operate, but now cannot tilt the seat at all.
I see the suggestion to remove seat and look under for broken parts. How difficult to remove the passenger seat? How would I do it?
Anything else I might consider before taking truck apart? (not mechanically experienced, but willing to go for it)
