Get yourself some Lucas power steering fluid, it has a leak stopper in it. I had the same problem for a long time and it just prolonged it until I could afford the new rack and pinion. Hope that helps.

I would not mees with it too long, The Bad Guy.
The longer you wait to get it repaired the correct
way, the more money you'll have in it.

Just some advice from a person that though he
could get away with it... but didn't.

if you went through 1 and 1/2 quarts just to drive home no way is a sealer designed to seal up small tiny little 1 drip every 100 miles IS NOT GONNA FIX IT you might be able to get a new seal from either the dealer or an auto parts store and do it yourself, the alternative if it don't work is to get the rack replaced.and if it is available use the instructions on how to replace the seal as if you don't you most likely will destroy it durring installation.

I had the exact same problem last weekend. The leak ended up being a bad o-ring in the supply line. Easy fix...cost 25c

It seems to be leaking at the connection from the sterring into the rack The lucas stuff slowed the leak but when the lucas leaked out after two days now the leak is as bad as ever does anyone have step by step replcement instructions for the rack?
