Subject: O2 sensor cause bucking?
IP: Logged

Message:
So i am thinking of replacing my o2 sensor because i was told it was bad after having a diagnostic check and it has been well over 80k miles. But what i am wondering is, could this be causing my recent problem with the truck bucking when i step on the gas a little heavy?

A bad O2 sensor causes a rich condition. Stomp the gas and you're basically flooding the engine, but it's still trying to run and this could easily be what you're talking about.

When mine failed in my car, it would buck about 2 minutes after a cold start, on light or steady throttle around 35 mph. Very likely that's your trouble.

Mpg in the car dropped from 35 to 21.
