I bought an air horn (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=40134) that says it needs a 30 amp fuse circuit. It appears to me that I only have a 25 amp for power windows. Am i wrong or is this correct? What do you guys think? Any help regarding this installation is appreciated, thanks.

Run A heavy wire from your plus battery post and incert a 30 amp fuse close to battery > End a problem > Just run the wire to your switch and horn in that order

I have 2 sets on my truck and I blew out a 20 amp, I have yet to blow the 30 amp replacement.

I also suggest running a relay so that there is little power (amps) going through the switch its self). If you need a wiring diagram or step by step instructions let me know.

Ryan, I found comprehensive installation directions on the same page as the air horn. Go take a look.

ScojoDak-

I have those. They did not address the issue of not having a 30 amp fuse...that is what I'm awaiting help on. Thanks though.

I sent you a diagram Ryan, the body of the mail explains what you are looking at...

Here is a crude representation of a relay in use. from left to right is the battery, in-line fuse, relay, switch and at the top is a device.

here is how it works. Power goes to the relay and is capped by an in-line fuse to protect your device. the relay has two complete circuits, the devices' and the switches'. when the switch is thrown it creates an electromagnet that pulls a bar in the relay to complete the circuit of the device. Why? so that the switch can run on 1 amp of current and the device can run on 30 amp!

if you have any other questions let me know.
