Subject: Replacement 3.9L air pipe. IP: Logged
Message: When I replaced the 1995 3.9L air filter system with a 14" Edelbrock top mount, I got rid of the plastic pipe that got the cold air from the front.
I *think* it was attached to the back of the radiator? Maybe the front passenger side grill. Will have to reach over and look.
Anyway, if I was to rig some system up to get colder air up to the filter, what type of piping would you guys reccommend?
Some kind of light plastic? Some light insulated, heat-shielded tubing?

Message: It was mounted beside the radiator, near the grille. I'd go find that piece of plastic, or recover one from the wreckers, because it's molded to pick up reasonably cold air from the front of the engine compartment.
You want a mod that will bring in true cold air? Add a small, functional hood scoop to dump on top of the motor. The only way without adding a bunch of restriction from piping.
