Subject: Front Brakes IP: Logged
Message: Since I had my front pads replaced recently I get a loud noise when applying brakes while backing up(sometimes forward, but rarely). Definitely brake related. I have read about the clips behind the pads that can rust out. Are those clips part of any new pad or a separate hardware kit? Do the 03`s have clips? Just want to know what it might be before I bring it back to my mechanic. Thanks

Message: He probably didn't properly lubricate or silicone the back of the pads. Yes, the shims & clips behind the pads are included in a new set. If you didn't machine or replace the rotors, sometimes grinding them with a abrasive disc is all you need. In any event, this should be fixed for free.

Message: Thanks Noltz. The noise is like the pads are clacking in place, not any scrunching normal sound. I had them replaced because the left side pads were sticking in the slides and wearing faster than the right side. Mechanic said he greased the crap out of them.

Message: Grease is real good, if you want a lot of dirt to stick to your brakes.
