Subject: Edelbrock IAS (How much space?) IP: Logged
Message: I want a set of Edelbrock IAS shocks for my 2004 Quad Cab. But...My new 1 in 2 out exhaust runs about 1/2-3/4" from my passenmger side shock. I read you mount the IAS shocks piston down. Will the exhaust melt the boot???? Do I have to dimple the exhaust pipe at that point?
Or do the shocks for our trucks mount tube down? If so...How big is the tube? Stock is 2"...
Thanks

Message: I have the IAS shocks on my 02 quad with a 3" flowmaster cat back and have 3-4 inches of room.
They do mount with the boot on the bottom.

Message: But how much space do I need? I only have 1/2 - 3/4". Because of the dual pipes. Will the boots melt?
But...how do you like them?????
Any clearance problems on the front????

Message: If the stock shocks have a little room the ias should be fine.
No problems with the fronts.
I love the way they ride.

Message: I was wondering about these shocks to settle out the ride of my truck. It's way harsh on the freeway because of the expansion joints. Do these shocks smooth out the ride compared to stocks?
Thanks
