Message: It's called a speed limiter. That option is built into the PCM to keep drivers from blowing the motors. It cant be taken out without a Chrysler performance PCM or a total reprogramming.

Message: Engine rev limiters protect the engine in every gear (park or neutral as well), not just at a predetermined vehicle speed. Speed limiters are used to keep the top speed below the point where aerodynamics become dangerous, or, in most cases, keep owners from exceeding the speed limitations of the tires the vehicles come with. If you get a high perf. PCM/reprogram, make sure you move up to better tires first.
