Message: DC just replaced my "intermediate steering shaft" (I think) because my steering column would 'pop' under certain conditions. That maybe what you have going on. It was not hard or expensive to replace. DC did mine under warranty, so I don't know the exact cost. The tech said it takes about 15 minutes to do. I waited for almost an hour after dropping the truck off for them to fix it, so 15 minutes sounds about right.

Message: i just got mine fixed, couple a hundred buks canadian.. i drive the hell outta mine and its 6 years old so im not thinking it was premature wear. but the symptom was looseness/ popping feeling noise in the steering, and they replaced the middle section that connects the rack and pinion to steering column on the cabside of firewall
