Ok, here's the deal i just got a R/T ( stock
except tb, exaust, intake), and a co-worker of
mine keeps asking me to race him. Now I
know that I would spank him if his was stock,
but he says that he has some mods , but dont
know what, I do know that he does have the
4.3 v6. I of any of you guys have had
experience with chevys, what would it take for
him to beat me? He seems quite egar to race
and its sounds kinda wierd. I know is in turbo
or SC or anything, just some bolt-on's. How
much crap would he have to put in to make the
p.o.s. faster than my R/T????

what cab is ur truck? cc or rc? what is his? s10's only need a intake ehxuast programmer and ported intake manifold to keep up with a cc rt

u should stomp his ass. i have cc 318 dak with minor mods and i eat s-10's alive. only problem our trucks have is their weight. a dak is heavy as hell 4 its size where as an s10 is made out of some plastic and sheet metal. but u should win if not and u think u r about 2 lose 2 a chevy, sideswipe him off the road(jk) like the other guy said he should keep up but not pass u

A guy I know that has just an intake and exhaust ran 16.5-17 at the track. That's pretty slow!! You should have no problem with even a modded s10. Although this guy has kicked the crap out of his truck.

I wouldn't be worried...especially with a 100 ci advantage under your hood.
The 'Xtreme' package on an S10 is visual only, and the 4.3 isn't much to be afraid of unless he threw an S/C or a big shot of nitrous on it. The 4.3 comes from the factory with no more than 190hp rating...I'd feel pretty safe racing one in my CC 4wd 4.7.
Beleive me, my Dak is replacing a 4.3 powered S10.

If he doesn't have a 100 shot of NOS a Turbo or a Super Charger then run him backwards so as to give him a fair chance.
