Subject: winter tire size. IP: Logged
Message: I'm doing some research on tires and tire sizes for this up coming winter. What tire size would work best on a 16" stock rim? I'm looking for snow traction. I heard narrower is better for the snow. I currently have 265/70/r16 on my 2003 4x4. I was thinking of going to 245/75/r16. Any suggestions?

Message: Dude,
You already have a 4x4, why do you need any more traction?

Message: Because wide tires tend to float in the slippery stuff. That sounds like a good size; I run 235-75R15 in the winter.

Message: Thankyou Kowalski. The reason i need more traction is because i work at a place that never closes no matter how bad the weather.
