Subject: Not running right, HELP IP: Logged
Message: Hey everyone. I have a 96' dak with the 3.9 and auto tranny. I have headers, msd ignition & coil, flowmetrics tb, ford 19lb injectors, mod. intake manifold, and transgo shift kit. Truck has always run well until about 3 weeks ago. When I floor it the truck will rev to about 3000-3500 rpm and it will stay at a constant speed and not accelerate or shift into the next gear. For example the truck will hit about 45mph in second gear and hold about 3500 rpm under w.o.t. and will not shift or accelerate. While doing this the engine sounds rough like it may be missing. A couple of times it has held at 4500 rpm at constant speed and not shifted into the next gear. At this rpm it should be shifting. I don't know if the problem is the engine, tranny, or computer? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Message: Also, The truck will run fine and shift fine as long as I keep it under 2/3 throttle. The problem only occurs under wide open throttle, Thanks.

Message: Just a guess but I'd start looking for a fuel
problem. Sounds like the engine is starving.
