Subject: Anyone raced a trailblazer? IP: Logged
Message: They have the inline 6, variable valve timing, and put out 265hp, at th e crank of course.
A guy on my volunteer fire dept. has a new one. He was giving me a ride, and I asked him to nail it on a secluded road, and from the line, and into 2nd gear, (it's an auto), it seemed slower than my QC, 4.7, 5spd manual.
Anyone raced one? They have more HP than a 4.7.
He said he'd race me, but neither of us go to the track, and I'm trying to figure a good place.
So, anyone ran one?

Message: I've raced a few, beat em everytime. Doesn't take much either. Those inline 6's lose their balls in second and lag out. Plus they are drive by wire so you can't really race em, the computer does the work. Its really unnatural.

Message: I'd put my R/T against it... I've got close to 350 hp though...... I don't think there'd be much of a chance for a trailblazer... still though, those inline sixes are really great motors, really strong bottom ends... a really good start for a nitrous set-up.....

Message: I walked one - no problem. Compare the torque, not just the hp, to see the big picture.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Message: 5.3 is only available in the Trailblazer XL which is longer and much heavier. The bigger engine keeps that heavier model behaving like its lighter sister. It doesnt provide a performance edge.

Message: WEll now wait a minute. A trailBlazer VS a Dakota?? Lets not forget there is a weight deffernce. I know for a fact that a Trail Blazer is faster than a 287 powered Durango.
Also the 4.2L puts out 275 HP and 275 lbs of toruqe.
I just wonder what the 5300 V tech powerd Envoys or Trailblazers run or tow.
