Message: It's interesting to read through the threads and notice how many Chevy owners claim their vehicles wouldn't get creamed very easily by a Dodge and how they may possibly be able to keep up with us. :-).
Sure, Chevy owners, you may just possibly be able to stare at the ass end of my 4.7 Dak even with its soon-to-be suspension lift and 33 Muds. Keep trying to dream up the possibilities! They will seem far from endless until you meet us at a light. :-) Anyway, just playin' around. I'm sure they're fine trucks. My friend owns a new Z71. Well hell, I like 'em better than Fords.:-).
Wanna buy a truck built like a car? Buy Chevy/Ford. Wanna buy a truck built like a truck? Buy a Dodge. And by the way, we're all having problems. We did choose to buy domestic didn't we? :-)
Take care guys. :)

Message: They are talking such crap. Glass trannys and so on and so on. I know a guy with a 85 dodge ram with a slant six 670000miles ORIGINAL CLUTCH tranny and engine. They talk so high about there trucks and put down others even though the numbers are still on our side. But thats why chevy owners are not as swift as us.

Message: I do know the auto tranny for the 94 dodge v-10 and deisel were no strong enough to handle the power those engines were putting out. That is were my respect for them went away. My best freind worked at Hinkley Dodge here in salt lake as a tranny apprentice. He said they were junk. They might of fixed that by now. But he said they were going through them like crazy.
My 2 cents

Message: well, you gotta keep in mind, it is a Chebby board.. There is alot of "other brand" bashing on this board too. That is what we do.
I just thought it was interesting to read.
My old boss at my last job bought a Ext Cab 2k 5.3 auto etc.... and I can tell you, it sure didn't feel fast. He had it for 2 days, took it back and got a 4.8 auto reg cab and I had no trouble with it

Message: Someone there had a great idea. Everyone that can get together, meet at a track somewhere, shoot the sh*t, and proove who is the top dog. Sounds like the 2wd 5.3L will put up a fair fight to the 2wd 4.7s and RTs.
Unfortuneately, they think the 5.3L has more "bolt-ons" available. Jackasses. The 360 has been around FOREVER. Sometimes I think I shoulda got one, yet I'm happy with the 4.7L in a reg cab 2wd, better gas mileage at least :-).

Message: Why aren't they comparing the Dak to the S-10?...=] Aren't they in the same class? Wouldn't the Silverado and the Ram be a better comparison? I'm a honda driver who just is waiting to buy a dak so i'm not fully educated about all this stuff

Message: The chevy silverado 1500 stock will do 0-60 in 8.8. I have a 5.9 durango with a k&N that will do it in 7.9 or if the engine is running cool 7.8. And it is really high milage. Chevys dont have *hit. And besides the chevys limited slip takes longer to activate then dodges and if there is a lot of wheel slip you will break the gears. Seen it done first hand. So for them to be competitve they have to get a better rear end with a proper limited slip.
Also I have read that the dodge engine blocks are but thicker then chevys and fords and can take more abuse. I also used to manufactor parts for both companies and chevy alowed a bigger tolorence for error then chrysler.
At least when we make a sharp turn are interior doesnt make that cracking noise. And speaking of plastic My father owns a plastic injection molding company and he said that the plastic in the dodges are made with better quality plastics that dampen sound.
So i know what I will be driving.

Message: He he he he. I have a Dodge for those Chevy guys to fear. Yes we do pick on other brands here, but their claims are the equivalent of R/T owners saying they will take out the Lightnings stock for stock. Now if claims like that start coming from this board we deserve a smack on the side of the head.
