Subject: Monroe Reflex shocks IP: Logged
Message: just installed a set on the front of my QC nad man what a difference. better control, cornering. no more thumpity thump over bumps in turns which i thought was an indication of bad ball joints. shock on pass side had no oil left in it. it would retract without any weight on it at all.

Message: firmer yes, but not much IMO. it's no where near bone jarring rough. i just installed them last night. my front end doesn't dance all over the road like before. not near as much nose dive when braking. feels more like a truck should than some mushy luxury car. more road feel too. what's NAPA tryin' to push? i know i have seen some other reviews on the reflex on here one of the reasons i when that route. if you're worried about being too stiff you could try the sensa trac. monroe also makes a gas "MAGNUM" shock for mid & full size trucks.

Message: Thanks for the info.
Napa was suggesting the Sensatracs...which I put on an Exploder I had a few years back, which were OK.
My KDX200 takes care of my off-road fix, so my truck rarely gets off the pavement.
I want the Edelbrock IAS, but can't justify the cost.

Message: what about rancho rs5000? i've read good things about them. reflexs were 80 bucks for the pair. i think the ranchos would have been about 110. sensa tracs about 65. all @ o'reilly's

Message: put reflex on mine, all four. Very happy. The reflex shocks were designed for use on SUV's, so for our trucks they are a natural fit since the cousin is the Durango.

Message: Daddio,
How many miles did you have on the truck when you changed the shocks? I have around 55K on mine now and boy do I know what you are talking about with the bumps and walking the front end all over the place.

Message: I changed my OEM shocks last December and installed Rancho RS5000. By April they were shot, I replaced them with Monroe Reflex and have been happy with their performance.
The ride is more comfortable and they work well offroad.
