I was driving my 02 Dakota 4x4 this morning going around a curve and it was as if I couldn't steer. Lost control and hit a guard rail. Luckily no oncoming traffic was en route and no one was injured. The only damage to my truck is the front bumper fortunately as well. Truck is at the dealer now, they are going over the steering with a fine tooth comb so they say. I know what they'll say, it was the wet roads. No it wasn't. I know a failure in steering front fishtailing. I just had the steering shaft replaced last week because they said it had alot of play in it. I'll let you know the outcome.

i'm scheduled to get a new steering intermediate shaft next week - dealer says mine has some play in it.

I have a 97 4wd that has had the steering colum replaced four times and balljoints three times the truck only has 58000kms.
