Keep in mind that GM "factory fills" every car they produce with
dex-cool antifreeze.
( Do a search on Google concerning what dex-cool will damage )
This just goes to show you that factory fill does not mean that
something is the best.

Message: I switched to Mobil1 in my Harley in 1998. It a) reduced operating temps about 10degF, b) makes the top end noise quieter (not that you could really hear it over my pipes anyway), and c) is available all over the place - unlike Harley oil which is only available at dealerships - where they are usually only open 10-6 Mon-Sat. When I was rebuilding my '88 5.0 mustang back in 2000, I ran across a dyno test on the web somewhere (didnt keep the link). They gain a horse or two by swithing from Pennzoil (I think) to Mobil1. Gained two or three more by lowering oil level to just above the "add oil" line on the dipstick (instead of at the FULL mark). Yeah, thats only about a 1% gain, but it shows SOMETHING positive. I've since switched to Mobil1 on all my vehicles. I'm never more than 10 minutes from a Walmart - some of them 247. Plus my father works for ExxonMobil. Too bad they dont offer decals (similar to K&N) that can be placed in the engine compartment saying something like "use only Mobil1".
