Subject: Sqeaking From left front wheel
IP: Logged

Message:
Ive noticed when driving about 15-25 mph there's occasionally a squeaking noise coming from the left front wheel. Sometimes after I turn, or just ramdomly it goes away. It's off and on. Any ideas what this may be? 2000 Dodge 4x4 Dakota.

sounds like it might be the bearing. These are sealed greaseless bearings and can only be replaced, not fixed. I had my front right one go after about 90k (kilometers). The guy who owned it before me tired to fix it with lots o grease and overtorque the nut but that only masked the problem. I paid about $250 (CDN so that would be about $125 US). Its easy enough to swap though and I did it in about 1/2 hour with basic tools (needed to borrow a torque wrench though).

good luck
