Message: I have a 1990 2wd that I'm trying to fix up for my son.
Where the steering rack bolts to the frame crossmember, one side seems to be loose, as if the nut up inside the crossmember is loose. This truck is from the North, and is fairly rusty underneath. Can anyone tell me if those nuts in the crossmember are supposed to be welded onto the crossmember or are they just regular nuts, with washers, etc.?
