Message: Pinging is pre-ignition, or detonation, which is the air/fuel mixture igniting before it's supposed to, early on in the compression stroke. Consequently, it's forcing the piston down while it's still trying to come up, which is hard on bearings, rings and valves. Then power is lost, because the mixture finishes combustion early, before the piston gets near the bottom of the power stroke. It can be caused by low-octane gas, high engine temp, advanced ignition timing, carbon buildup and several other factors.
The clicking is normal, it's the solenoids opening and closing the fuel injector plungers.

Message: Thanks for clearing that up, and I noticed the injector sounds after I put higher octane fuel in. I used to use 87 and then I just put in 89. Does that have anything to do with it? maybe?
Thanks
