Message: I don't have one on this truck, but i have one on my car and had one on my old truck. I dont think they help much with bugs, but they do help alot with little stone chips along the hood and fenders. I dont have one on this truck because I don't want to spoil the lines of it. Plus I don't know how good it would look with the chrome.

Message: I use it for both style and performance on my Dak...
Since mine is a 4x4, I'm not so much worried about the "lines" per se. I have a Lunds Interceptor (with fender eyebrows) and it does a pretty effective job of forcing air up over the windshield. Many a time I have seen bugs comin' right at me just lift off and go up and over the top.
Personally, I think the bug shields look go on darker vehicles (mine is Deep Amethyst).

Message: I wasn't to keen on bug defletors personally. I sell alot of the three piecs both for Rams and Dakotas/Durangos. This past spring I was tired of all the bug strikes I was getting on my windshield while driving to and from work. So I purchase a Mopar bug deflector (3piece) part#82204322 retails for$102.22 I was imperessed, windshield is a lot cleaner with this little piece of plastic on the front. I have had others that did work all the did was create a vortex so when you tried to wash you windshield everything ended up on your hood

Message: Just got back from a vacation in my Dak, with a bug guard. To be honest, I hadn't been too impressed to date with it (Except it made the front look, well, more like the RAM). I had TONS of little bug strikes just past the Mackinac bridge in US 2. When I got where I was going, I noticed that the entire front of my truck was bug-colored, while the windshield had about half as many strikes, or less.
So they DO work, but not totally. It did save the front of my truck from a piece of semi-tire that got kicked up though, richochet off the deflector, instead of hitting the hood.

Message: I was like you I was undecided about bug deflectors but I was going to go on vac. to Kentucky and I do know that I would have to carry a scraper with me to clean bug stuff off with.
So I figured I'd yrt the LUND Interceptor I paid $80 for it and it doesn't use sticky tape. Took
about an hr. to install but it did keep my windshield clean at highway speeds. Below about 45mph it doesn't work as good BUT it does work.
