Message: I have a quick question, should I be worried about my oil pressure if it is reading just past the the big hash mark before the high mark? I took it into the dealer and they worked on it for a day and they couldn't figure it out but did say it was running a little higher than normal. I have an 02 QC 4.7 4x4 5spd auto no mods as of YET. I do use 5w30 Mobil 1 Synthetic oil

Message: I run the same oil in my car with oversize filter, and it runs that high when cold. No problems yet. My Dakota runs stock filter and same oil, pressure around 1/2 mark.

Message: Your oil pressure guage is not calibrated to exacting specs by specially trained NASA engineers. My point, don't trust that the pressure reading on your guage is accurate. The position of the needle on the guage will vary from truck to truck. You only need to worry if suddenly starts registering outside what is the normal range for your particular guage. If it's always been there, no problem. If it suddenly changed, then get an actual oil pressure test guage and hook that up to check it.
