Personally, I prefer the bug guard... however I would say that it would depend on the color of the vehicle...
With the darker colors, I think the "smoke" looks good, but with lighter colors, I think "painted" looks better.
But all in all...it's just a matter of preference.

Smoke deflector on a black is my favorite because you can barely see it. Most people don't notice it on my 01 QC. You say you got a sport so a smoke deflector would tie in to the bumper caps in color but it would really stand out.
I like it on mine cause it is hardly noticable and breaks up the front end lines just enough to get your attention.
