Subject: Truck w/body-colored bumper:NEVER AGAIN

Just spent the last half hour wiping bug guts off the front of my truck. Noticed a couple new small chips while I was at it. This is why I will never have a body-colored front end on any truck I own again, if it is at all avoidable. I'll be the first to admit it looks sweet, which is why I got it this way. But having all that paint right on the part of the vehicle that gets buffeted by wind, bugs, and debris more than any other while on the highway makes keeping the paint clean and healthy more of a pain in my ass than it's worth. Love this truck, but miss the chrome bumper on my Ranger. It was one less thing to worry about. Hose it off, good as new, never had to worry about highway paint chips or bird intestines melding with paint and clearcoat. I thought having the monochromatic look might be worth it, bit not if it's all chipped and faded within 2-3 years anyway.

When's the last time you waxed your truck? I found that a good coat of was makes 'bug' removal easy.

Every 2 months or so. USually use more than a coat.
