Message: I posted a few days ago about some electrical problems with my radio. It cut off by itself and only jiggling the power window swithches cuts it back on if I'm lucky. Usually it just cuts right back off.
Researched the problem on this web site and found out that this seems to be a common problem. I've read several different solutions from replacing the ignition switch, to replacing the head-something or another (I really don't know what this is).
I was wondering if any else out there has experienced this problem of the radio cutting off by itself. It never did it during the winter, but now it's hot and it does it all the time. Any suggestions?

Message: Check the door speakers. If they get wet they distort the voice coil and it shorts out on the basket. Try unplugging the drivers side speaker and see if the problem goes away.

Message: Fixed it. Took the passenger door panel off to check that speaker. When I was taking the screws out that holds the speakers to the door, I noticed it was sparking. Found the short! Turns out the wireing harness that plugs up to the back of the speaker had been cracked somehow. Yay, now I have a radio.
