Subject: How to ID a Mopar performance PCM IP: Logged
Message: I bought a 2000 RT regular cab about 6 weeks ago. Since then I've installed a brass cap and rotor, Autolite 3923's and a 180 thermostat. However, I still get some moderate pinging when I do a full throttle standing start. I was wondering if the previous owner installed a Mopar performance PCM which requires premium fuel. Is there any quick way to tell by looking at the PCM? Any ideas on what else might be causing the pinging? 89 octane gas seems to take care of most of the pinging. Thanks!
