Message: Anyone know where to get hub nuts besides the dealer? 16$ bucks each just rubs me the wrong way and the people who make the aftermarket hubs don't supply em! Any help appreciated

Message: I didn't like paying $16 for the hub nuts either, so I used a couple drops of Lock-tite on the hub nut and spindle before I torqued it down. Seems to me that the only reason DC wants the hub nut replaced is so the Nylock insert holds the nut secure and seals the threads from rust and contamination. A couple drops of Lock-tite will hold the nut secure and seal the Nylock insert to the spindle.
If you can't get the hub nut anywhere but the dealer, what do you think non-dealer mechanics do? Reuse the old hub nut I would imagime.

Message: You're complaining about spending a piddly $32 for two crucial nuts on your truck? Do you work at Burger King part time or work a paper route for a living?
I'm sorry but It's not like you're going to replace these things once a week you know. You may never change them again.

Message: Yeah, not only was I complaining about the $32 spindle nuts, I also complained about the $200 hub assembly's from DC, That's why I replaced the bearings in the hubs and reused the old hub nuts.
Hmmmmm,,,, $75 repair for replacing 2 hub bearings or $500 repair for 2 new hub assembly's and 2 new spindle nuts? Just doesn't make sence replacing something that isn't broken or worn out.
What the heck, it's your money, spend it as you like.
