Along with the warped rotors,(on my third set in 53,000 miles) bad balls joints, how many besides me have had to replace their drivers side speaker. In other forums I'm begining to notice quite a lot.

NEVER FORGET!

Why would just the driver side speaker go out? I would assume it is the exact same as the passegner side speaker so is it really the speaker? Or maybe people listen to music a little too loud.

I bought my 98 ExtCab used... its drivers side speaker was blown. I replaced all 4 with some pioneers from crutchfield.com - like $90 a pair.

Since the drivers side speaker is closer to the driver, maybe thats the one that is noticed more. I bet if you sat close to the speaker on the other side you would notice the sanme thing.

And then considering that it't not an after marker performacne speaker; what do you expect?

Listen to your tunes at a resonable volume and it won't be a problem. Or replace the head with a nice unit and push some boston speakers. That will get you the after market sound you want.

The wires on my passanger door speaker frayed off at about 35,000 miles and I first I soldered the thing together that held for a little while until they came loose again so I finally just said forget it and replaced the whole system with new speakers and head unit when the dealer told me it would be more than $100 dollars for one replacement factory Infinity speaker since it was no longer under warranty. I think it sounds a lot better now anyways. Good luck...

I can't believe you actually went to the dealer to price a replacement speaker. What were you thinking?

The first thing I do when I buy a new car/truck is rip out the stock stereo and all speakers then the muffler.
