Message: I have a 2001 Quad cab. What mods would I have to make if I put on a 3" body lift?

Message: I put a three inch body lift on my 97 dakota 5 speed, and had to make a few mods. First off, you might want to purchase a gap cover to place in your rear wheel wells to cover the space that will be left between the base of your bed and the frame, and second you might want to think about larger tires. I had 30's on mine before and it looked horrible with the little tires, so I upgraded to 33's and it actually looks pretty good, but that would be your choice.

Message: i put the 3 inch on my 98 five speed it was pretty easy except for the shifters. put on some bigger tires (33), and as for the last post i left the gap open,it makes for super easy cleaning and any future work has that little extra room to get your hands in

Message: in a nutshell, the body mount bolts are undone taken out and round block spacers are inserted between the frame and the body then longer bolts are provided to retighten.but keep in mind that the factory was probably not planning on this so there are a lot of things that are attached to the frame and body together that need to be longer.(brake lines, shift levers, any wiring, gas tank hoses)stuff like that. but the kit comes with thorough instructions. good luck if you do it.mine turned out great
