Message: My 92 Dak idles fine while cold but once it
warms up the rpm drops to around 500 and
runs a little rough. Its a 2WD - 5.2 -
automatic, around 90K miles. It just started to
do this and used to idle around 750 rpm. Any
help would be appreciated.

Quite possible the EGR valve\solenoid is
dirty or sticking .
Rear area of intake manifold..

Message: I've had the same problem with my 93 Dakota 3.9 auto. Mine would idle all the way down at 200 rpm when I first bought it. I've replaced all of the vacuum hoses, changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires, ignition rotor, throttle position sensor, fuel injectors, air filter, and now it idles around 400-500 most of the time. I have not replaced the EGR valve yet, or the idle air control valve, but those are my next two things to replace.

Message: Thanks for the tip on the EGR valve! Whoever
you are I owe you a beer.
Hey 93Dak, you should try replacing it. Only
took about 15 minutes. It's running much
better.
