I just got a 2002 dak quadcab sport 4X2 with the 4.7L motor and a 12 bolt diff and auto tranny.

can someone tell me if this differential is limited slip or not?

How can I tell? What is the HP to the rearwheel on a stock model?

What mileage can I expect on average?

sorry I am not very smart with this mechanical stuff...

thanks

Look on the driverside door frame for a little white sticker. If it's not there, check inside the glovebox. It should tell you if it's limited or not. If you still can't find it, then spool up your tires and see if it hops and leaves two tire marks. I heard you can also stick it on a lift and see if both spin, but I'm not sure.

Well the net horsepower is 230. But I want to say that most auto's loose up to 25% of that at the rear wheels. So with everything still factory expect somewhere around 180HP at the rear wheels.

As far as fuel economy...not the greatest. Everybodies MPG is different because everybodies truck is different. Expect somewhere around 13-16MPG in the city and from my experience, 15-17MPG on the highway. This all depends on how you drive and what you have done to your truck. I have heard some real crazy claims from some other 4.7L owners of up to 24MPG, but I doubt it.
