I'm having trouble shifting my 2000 4x4 manual transmission. Frequently, the transmission will be stuck in a gear - right after starting the engine. It was parked in gear. The only way that I can shift is turn the engine off. Anyone else having a similiar problem? Any ideas?

Have you tried, not parking it in gear
(using the e-brake to keep it from rolling of course)??

The only problem I have shifting my truck (2001 4x4 5-speed CC) is that sometimes when I have to make a quick stop in a high gear (with the clutch in), the transmission will not shift into first. I have found that shifting into any other gear and then into first will always work.

UmStefa I dont think Thats a problem and you moving above 15 mph when you are trying to go into 1st? If so its the syncromesh I think preventing you from shifting at too high a speed. Mine does this too. I almost have to be at a stop to down shift into 1st.
