I just bought my dak not to long ago. I`m going to take off the back plate on the rear end to see what size it is. I`m pretty sure its original. It`s an 89 pre-mag V6. Anyone know the size off hand?

Before removing anything, look at the differential cover and count the bolts.
If you count 10 it's a 8.25 inch, if you count 12 bolts it's a 9.25 axle.
