Subject: Front Tow Hook Template?
IP: Logged

Message:
After alot of searching I still can't find tow hooks for the front of my 01 Quad 4x4.

Unless anybody has found something else, I can have a friend make a bracket described in archived posts by KnobbyMan. However, the template design can no longer be retreived. Does any one have this design??

Thanks,Fin.

Fin,

You're lucky I have a big pile of crap on my computer desk!! I searched all three computers in the house and coudln't find that template. Hoever, in my Pile-O-Stuff I found the folder with all the stuff I was doing to my truck when I first got it, and I have a hard copy of that template. Give me a day to get it on my friend's scanner and I'll have it up online.

Awesome. Thought I was out of luck. Should be much easier starting with a template. If possible I am thinking of mounting receiver tube extensions instead of tow hooks. I have shackle mount arms I can insert, which should be more versitile, and cooler looking.

Thanks, Fin.

Here it is....

I beleive this is the towhook template that used to float around this site. I think people were making them out of either 1/8" or 1/4" steel. Before you have them fabbed, make one out of wood to ensure that it fits right and everything lines up.

Thanks. Quick visual looks like these will work. I will definetly make a prototype from plywood first. I will probably also use 3/8" steel.

Now I am looking for Tow Rings instead of hooks. F*^&* OEM rings might work with slight mod to bracket. Not sure if they will extend far enough.

Thanks, again.
