Message: I"ve got an 04 std cab 2wd and need to replace the rear shocks. Do you just lossen the nuts and put jack under the frame and lift it enough to take pressure off old shocks?

Message: Properly installed stock-type shocks do not support the weight of the truck. That's the springs job. Removeing the shocks is pretty easy. When I rfeplaced all four of mine, it only took about an hour total. I didn't even remove the rear tires.

Message: I'll give you a hint on the rear shocks. Loosen the lower bolts on
them first, otherwise if you do the top end first it will expand on
you and jam itself into the bed. Also, 15mm and 18mm got my
rears off. You don't need a jack or nothing.
