 Subject: J1850 Bus Wire?

There is a purple wire with a yellow stripe that has a white rectangular connector on it that plugs into the back of my OEM radio. Is that the J1850 bus wire? Do I leave it unconnected if I install an aftermarket stereo unit?

Sounds like a 'Security Alarm ' wire to me !
If you don't connect it somewhere , the
alarm will either continually go off
Or Not work at all ?
