HELP!
I drove to work this morning, no problems with my 4.7L Dak, went to start it for lunch and it wouldn't even turn over. I jumped it and the idle was VERY quiet. The ABS light and Brake light were on, but I don't think that is a problem. I ran it around the block a few times without any problems. I parked it in a parking spot, turned the AC on, no problems. I put it in reverse, and it died. The dash lights went out, radio went off, couldn't start it again.

The starter works fine, the Battery has plenty of juice, it has 33K miles on it, I changed the oil last week with Mobil, and have no Check Engine Light. WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE? Computer? Sensors?

The oil pressure is fine, the Escort says I have 13.1 volts, the temp is fine...

The alternator was pushing all the components, because I think the battery is bad. The tow truck just picked up my truck and delivered it to the Dealership. If they say it is just the battery, I'll get a good optima and let the Dodge yahoos do my transfer case recall while it is in the shop. Otherwise, I am going to have to wrestle with them about the mods and how they didn't contribute to the malfunction.

I think Dodge needs to do a TSB on their batteries....Ive had to R/T's, a 98 and my current one, an 01. BOTH had bad batteries after less than a year...

I inserted my VIN and the good news is it said there were NO RECALLS.

But it called my truck a DODGE DAKOTA P/U QUAD CAB-SPORT 4X4

Sport??? I thought mine was a SLT or something like that. It was expensive, that's all I know.
But the database could have just listed it wrong.
