Have been following these threads and this is where this stands. Know for a fact that "true" syns have some pretty significant advantages over regular oil. Know Mobil 1 costs less than Amsoil. Don't know for a fact there are any advantages to Amsoil over Mobil 1. So, if syn in your truck makes you feel better, put it in. If Amsoil in your truck makes you feel better than Mobil 1, put that in. Be happy!

AMSOIL Cost less to use than Mobil1 and I can prove it. I
switched from Mobil1 to AMSOIL back in 1995 and I follow both
the recommendations of AMSOIL and the lab that does my
analysis work (when needed).
I have seen equipment last longer, burn less fuel and give better
performance time and time again.
My company has saved literaly thousands of dollars by using
AMSOIL products.

p.s.
I also feel the same way about other products (tires, batteries,
etc.) that I do about oil so don't think that Amsoil is the only
thing I toot my horn about.

Well then you might want to go to the syn oil study page sam linked. Mobil 1 made it 18,000 miles, Ams still has 10,000 to go with a couple big ???? going on right now!
