Message: basically..
breaking something because i hit the gas too hard is a lot more fun to me than changing oil. I dont know why but it just is. I got one of my big block buddies sending me tailshaft for free so it will be back on the road again about a week.
I took some pix of it under my truck. Didnt just crack it in one place.. i managed to crack it around just about every bolt and a crack all the way around it.
not bad for a wee old little 400

Message: hahaha!!! look at these pix!! toasted 727!!
here is another view of the tranny. This is where it started... below the passenger side of the tailshaft (where it was leaking).
here it goes over the tranny case with some of the smaller tailshaft cracks "arrowed"
... over to the other side and threw the gear selector... man that was rough!
and here you can see the little cracks along the tailshaft i first saw

Message: DAMN! Way to go! I wish I could make that kind of power. You wasted a 727, thats not real easy to do.
Good luck at harnessing that power.

Message: Looks like it starts at the shift lever. Must have been one hell of a 1 2 shift. If it was me, I would still have one big smile on my face. Hope you have good luck with the parts inside to rebuild another. May have to get a blast blanket to wrap that baby in. Well good luck, she sure looks good.

Message: well it wasnt really power that broke it.. the u joint gave at a high rate of speed and the tranny really just didnt have a chance. But i am gonna take her all apart and see what the insides look like.
