Message: So how hard is it to install one of these babies?
I'm thinking it won't take but an hour or so once I get the the thing.
The accessory book also mentioned something about "weight transfer equipment". Any ideas what this is? -I thought the reciever mounted directly to the frame and therefor transfered all the weight directly.
Help??

Message: torsion bars that attatch to the trailer's hitch frame and to the hitch frame, they keep the tail of the tow vehicle from dragging by transfering, through leverage, some of the weight to the front of the tow vehicle. you need to either put a jack under the trailer's hitch frame or use large long leverage bars to get these things attatched correctly, as they are under a lot of tension.

Message: I installed Reese bolt on hitch myself, real easy. Pulled a 21' 3300# sailboat with 97 cc V6 just fine. It has load stabilizers on it. Makes a big difference in leveling truck and making for smoother ride.

Message: So these torsion bars don't actually attach to the truck, they go from the hitch back to the trailer??
I think I am starting to get it.

Message: Correct. They take they weight and stress off the ball connection and make it more of a 'straight or solid' connection.

Message: JC, The receiver hitch is not a problem to install. Just make sure it is the correct hitch and you have all the bolts in. The equalizer hitch is a seperate unit that inserts into the receiver hitch. You will not go wrong buying an equalizer hitch. I put one on my trailer and what a difference it makes. It basicly transfers the weight of the trailer to the front of the truck and makes the whole thing alot more "equal". It is well worth the investment if you are going to do some serious towing. Good luck.

Message: Just put a Hidden Hitch on; simple bolt on. Holes all lined up nicely. Just had to remove two bumper bolts to put hitch on. Just make sure you get the right hitch for you truck.
