With the low milage on your truck you do not have to do any elaberate procedure for your switch to synthetic. Just try to stick with a large producer of synthetic oil and you should be fine. Some names to look for: Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobile 1, Neo oil, Castrol Syntec, Redline Raceing Oil and Penzoil Synthetic. Their are others but theses companys have been around for a long long time and all make a products that will excede your warranty requiremnets. I would use 10w30 synthetic. It will provide protection close to what a straight 40 wt would but with out all of the friction or pumping isues that you would have with a straight weight oil.

I use Mobil 1 tri-synthetic 5w-30 in the winter and 10w-30 in the summer. For oil filters I personally use Napa Gold (Wix). Wix, Mobil,
ACDelco, and such make good filters, just stay away from Fram and Pennzoil oil filters.

QuadCab, just curious, what do you find wrong with Fram or Pennzoil Filters? Always interested in broadening my knowledge base!
