Subject: 03 4.7 low idle IP: Logged
Message: I read a post a couple of months ago by someone who said their 03 4.7 all of a sudden started to idle at 500rpms when they were stopped and in drive. I searched for it but I can't find it.
Anyway, my 03 just started doing the same thing. In park it's now just under 600rpms which is also lower than before. I've read that others complained about a low idle but I didn't think this was an issue with the newer ones. I'm not even at 6000 miles yet.
Is there a flash for this? I can't imagine the iac would need to be cleaned already.

Also check under your passenger floorboard for water. The police detail that showed up at work today had an 03 qc 4.7 with 8800 miles. He was very surprised/upset that there was a puddle of water under his. I had the same thing, dealer said there was an obstruction in the AC drain from the factory. They also said they couldn`t put an elbow on it or anything because DC didn`t approve it. I haven`t had any water issues all winter and it rained a lot. Now that it is AC season if it comes back I`ll know what it is. I didn`t bother checking his idle BTW,he had the AC on anyway, doesn`t drop with AC on. I`ll post how he makes out(and if I find water again) on a water related thread.

Message: Thanks Jeremiah.
That's the thread I was thinking about. Still no flash I guess but I'm going to mention it to the dealer anyway and see if they know of any fix in the near future.
Now I did notice that the driver's side floorboard was a bit damp when I was vacuuming last week. So I checked the passenger(AC) side and it was dry but I haven't used the AC alot yet but I'm keeping an eye on both sides.
I thought I read another post somewhere that the AC drain was apparently revised for 02 or 03 and that was supposed to be a fix but I guess not.
I'll post any info I get from the dealer on the idle and the AC drain.
