Subject: 2002 RT IP: Logged
Message: I just purchased a 2002 CC Rt. It did not come with a owners manual so I have a few questions. 93 octane is the norm right??? whats the best kind of oil to put in. Also, without spending alot of money what would b the best way to put some more HP in it???

Message: Dont wast your money on 93 octane. The 5.9 is tuned to run on 87. As far as oil, go with synthetic of your choice. Also change the rear diff w/synthetic. And whatever ya do, dont as the amsoil guy what brand to use. As far as mods, free up the breathing with a good K&N filter system. Start with these and you should be plenty happy to start with.

Message: I agree with the idea of a K&N FIPK Gen 2. The throttle response in great. I wouldn't go with a superchip though, I am not very impressed with mine. I dunno if diablo makes one for the RT but my friend has one for his lightning and it has way more user options. Headers and exhaust give it a way better sound. I didn't notice much of a power difference from those though. I put monroe reflex shocks on the rear recently to help with traction, they are great! I also just ordered some Nitto 450 275/50/17 today and hope to have them by next week. Those are my 2 cents. Hope is helps.
