Subject: clicking noise IP: Logged
Message: I have a 98 v6 dodge dakota. When i shut he engine off i hear a clicking noise. It is coming from under the hood, but im not sure whats making the sound. The more i drive the longer it lasts after i shut it off. Any Ideas?

Message: I'd guess it's an actuator. Don't know exactly what they do.

Message: If it's a "plinking" type noise, don't worry about it, it's just the contracting of metals as Ramewe pointed out. If it's a relay click, then you'll have to pinpoint it.
