Subject: looking for ram head wheel hub cover IP: Logged
Message: Does anybody know of an internet source for the ~3" plastic wheel hub cover in the center of the factory 15" wheels? I have lost one on my 2000 Dakota and was hoping to find a replacement for less than the $14 + tax the local dealer asks for them.

Message: I've lost 4 and had 1 confirmed stolen. I pay $15 ea. The confirmed stolen was after I glued them into the wheels. I parked the truck at Crowley Lake (Sierras) for the trout opener. Used the fuel filler door to set my fishin' poles leaning against the truck. Cap was there when I left the truck in the morning and when I returned at the end of the day of awesome trout fishin' one of my caps was gone. Could only have been pried off with a screw drive or similar instrument. Had only one other lost (stolen?) since I glued them down. Use Permabond or KrazyGlue type cyanoacrylate to glue them and watch out for gluing your fingers!

Message: 4 for $30 (I'm figuring about $5 for shipping) is a good deal if you need 2 or more of them. I only need one and $14 is less than $30 so buying it from the dealer for $14 is less expensive.
Thanks for the offer though, I appreciate it.

Yeah, but when you lose another one you will have spent $28.00
plus tax.
Buy the set of four and keep three in the garage for spares ...
you will be needing them !
Plus if you ever sell your truck you will have spare parts to
include in the sell which at times makes the buyer feel like he is
getting a bonus in the deal.

Message: Dr. D, point taken. But given that I have only lost one in 4 years and 50kmiles I will play the odds that I will not soon loose one again. A little bit of epoxy will increase my odds.
