 Subject: Quad Rear Seat Question

How well do these stay up? It seems to me they could come down fairly easy. I dont want to put my dogs back there with the seats up if they are going to fall down on them. Is there a way to safely secure the seats, or am I just worrying over nothing?

I have three dogs that have riden in the back of my quad cab for 1000 mile round trips. Never had a problem. My QC is a 2001, but the shouldn't make a difference. I have two labs and the fiance has a french bulldog.

i had my rear seats up for almost 3 yrs in my 01. no problems.

Mine fall down anytime I stop quickly. Unless I have something holding them up, they will fall down with a loud crash.

If they are falling down that easily, there is something wrong with them. I have to use a little effort to push mine down.

thanks for the posts! I have been driving a couple days now with them up to test them, and they have not fell. Thanks to your posts, I'm going to take the dogs for their first ride in the new Dak! Y'all are great!

I wish it were a joke. I almost have to hold mine in the 'up' position. Looks like I may have them checked at the dealer the next time I go by. The truck is still in warranty, so if they are broken, I want them fixed. They seem like they are spring loaded to pop back down.
The loud crash happened the first time I had them up and I had to stop quickly (no tire lockup). I actually thought someone had nailed my truck (it was only a few days off the lot). Since that near heart attack, the only time I've had the seats up is when I have something big there to hold them up.
Man, you learn something new every day. I thought YOU were all kidding about how well they stay up.
