Hi, There is a new dodge truck in texas that is totaled that I heard about from a friend. It is a 2wheel drv. But it has the hemi in it. They will not sell the hemi by itself. But they do want $5300 for the whole deal. I dont think you could even buy a crate motor for that much.Plus you get the computer and engine wiring to run motor. If your interested let me know and I will get the phone # and you can see if they still have it.

Get a real Macory...426 Hemi.
Or you could adopted for a 392 which was also a great Hemi Street motor.

find a 5.7 hemi as a crate but you can find other sizes as a crate, do a really good internet search then remember I told you so. the only way to get such a new engine as a crate engine is if and when D/C releases it as a crate engine and they have not yet done so, you may be able to get a 5.7 CHEVY or a Elephant based crate but no CHRYSLER MANUFACTURED 5.7 HEMI crate.

Please prove your inteligence by listing all the differences between relacement motors and crate motors. The 5.7 hemi is available at hotrodlane.com as Tom pointed out. Please also note the original poster did not specify he was strictly looking for a crate motor; you were the first to bring that up. Jackass.

I heard that supply and demand for new trucks with hemis is halting crate sales for now. Buy a new ram hemi; swap engines then sell it.worked for me.

Why all the hype over the 5.7 Hemi? It isn't a bad truck motor, but it's far from a performance engine such as the 426 Hemi it shares (only) the name with. For the same amount of money it would cost to buy a junkyard 5.7 you could build a 5.9 Magnum that would blow its doors off. And how sweet would it be to ask the driver, That thing got a Hemi®?

I donot have to "prove intelligence" to some dum polock. uh by the way you can kiss mine ya jerk esp since Mopar does not have it available and won't for some time peckerbreath. Polocko a replacement engine is ror a vehicle that originaly had that particular engine in it, a crate engine is to be put into a vehicle that did not originally have that particlar engine in it, ever, factory stock. The BIGGEST difference is the crate engine comes set up for a carborator and the replacement comes set up with whatever induction system the original engine had.
Of course you being a smart polock instead of a dumb one, you knew that.

At this past SEMA Mopar Performance had on display a 5.7L Hemi 'crate' engine, EFI with a PCM included.

I've available at a decent price, I would like a 5.7 Hemi over the 5.9 magnum simply for the fact that it's different. Everyone and their grandma has a 5.9 in a Gen 3 Dakota, hell even some of Gen 2's have swapped them in, but I've yet to see a Gen 3 with a Hemi, I wouldn't doubt that there's a handful out there, but still, it's unique.
