Couple of questions here. Anyone know if Dodge is going to change the wonderful ball joints for the 2005? Also, I bought my truck used with a extang platinum cover on it. Does anyone know how much this is new? I have a 2001 QC.

I think I read somewhere that Dodge did not change the ball joints on the new Durango, which probably means that they haven't changed them on the new Dakota either. Then again, I also read that for 2003, Dodge completely redesigned the front suspensions of these vehicles to address the ball joint issue. Maybe that solved the problem.

What do you think about the new Getrag 6-speed manual trans going into the 05 Dak? Is it an improvement over the NV3500 5-speed in the 04 Dak?
